LOCATION: Wellington, Somerset


Quantity Surveyor required in Wellington (Somerset) to join a growing carpentry sub contractor.

Our client is an established and successful carpentry subcontractor with a strong client base of their own across the South West. They are currently managing sustainable growth and are looking to hire a junior level QS to join their team, working out of their new premises in Wellington. Predominantly working with house builders across Somerset, Devon and Dorset our client delivers all aspects of first & second fix carpentry as well as roofing and timber framing.

The successful candidate will have recent experience in a junior/assistant QS role. We are looking for someone with construction knowledge, good numerical and I.T skills who is proficient in Microsoft Office.

Working hours will be 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday. The role will be office based working with a team of five on a day to day basis, with visits to site fortnightly to assess valuations/ variations on works.

Detailed training will be given to ensure the successful candidate is able to progress in the role efficiently - working towards autonomy and minimal day to day supervision.


- Managing valuations

- Managing invoicing

- Managing variations

- Final accounts

- Liaising with clients and sub contractors in a professional manner


- Excellent IT skills

- Previous experience in a similar construction role

- Knowledge of the construction process and materials

- Driving license and own transport (mileage will be paid when travelling to sites)
